In the retail sphere, the interior design of a store is a critical aspect, particularly for a renowned brand like Adidas. Designed by Adidas and retrofitted by Teal Harmony Design, this Adidas flagship store is more than a shopping destination; it represents the brand’s essence and elevates the overall customer experience.
Teal Harmony Design, a Lagos-based interior design studio, was contracted to fit-out the interior of the Adidas flagship store in Lagos, Nigeria. Shades of grey, and wood accents dominate the store’s colour palette, creating an atmosphere of urban sophistication. These muted tones set the stage for strategically placed pops of vibrant colours in seating areas, infusing energy into the space while maintaining a chic overall look.
The store employs an open-concept layout, allowing products such as footwear, apparel, and accessories to be visible to shoppers and easily accessible. This layout encourages exploration, inviting customers to browse and discover Adidas’ latest offerings at their own pace.
Ample and well-placed lighting ensures that every product is presented in the best possible light. Ceiling-mounted mood lighting adds depth and highlights key product areas, creating an engaging ambiance throughout the store.
The store’s interior features black steel columns, lending an industrial chic feel. The exposed black ceiling, along with visible systems, contrasts with the textured grey walls, creating a harmonious blend of urban and tactile elements. Wooden shelving units also add a warm touch to the overall design.
Adidas employs innovative displays to showcase its products effectively. Clever shelving systems, mannequins, and digital screens exhibit the latest collections, engaging shoppers and sparking interest. These elements contribute to a dynamic shopping experience.
The store goes beyond being a retail space; it provides shoppers with moments of relaxation. Various seating areas are strategically placed, offering shoppers the opportunity to try on products and rest comfortably while exploring Adidas’ offerings.
In summary, Adidas curated a design that balanced fashion and function. With a dark color palette, innovative displays, and subtle branding they created a blend of urban sophistication and practicality.
