OOA’s Samartex Project Earns Prestigious EDGE Advanced Certificate for Sustainable Design

In a notable achievement, the Samartex project by Orthner Orthner & Associates, an architectual firm based in Accra, Ghana, has once again garnered recognition for its pioneering sustainable architecture. The project conceived 13 years ago, was recently honored with an EDGE Advanced Certificate by the International Finance Corporation, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in sustainable building practices.

This accolade places the Samartex project among the distinguished group of only nine EDGE-Certified buildings in Ghana for the years 2022 and 2023, with the additional distinction of being the sole recipient of an Advanced Certificate since EDGE’s establishment in Ghana six years ago.
