Open House Lagos 2023, an annual design event, will be concluded with the 9H Design Talk. The event, scheduled for December 10 and 16, 2023, is themed ‘New Directions in Nigerian Design’ and is all set to showcase the architectural marvels of Lagos City. The event offers free access to the public to explore the diverse structures of Lagos.
The event which kicked off on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the Alliance Française Auditorium, located at the Mike Adenuga Centre in Ikoyi. It will continue with midday bus tours to two significant buildings on Saturday, December 16, 2023. The finale of the event will be the 9H Design Talk.
The 9H Design Talk will commence at 17:30h at the GAS Foundation, 9 Hakeem Dickson Drive, Oniru Lagos. In line with the ‘7 Speakers 7 Minutes’ tradition, seven practitioners will speak for seven minutes each about their work. The speakers represent current trends in the local design scene, including two architects, two product designers, two artists, and an art historian who lives in a work of architecture.
The lineup of speakers includes Stefanie Adisa Theuretzbacher, Ade Shokunbi, Lani Adeoye, Patrick Akpojotor, Akintunde Disu, Charlotte Langhorst, and Chuka Ihonor. This insightful session is free to attend and is expected to attract a wide audience, eager to learn from these esteemed professionals.
Through a collaboration between 9H Media and Open House Lagos Festival 2023, the 9H design talk promises to be a melting pot of fresh ideas, innovative design, and architectural brilliance.
