Amazing Spaces By Aretha, an Interior Design Studio based in Lagos, designed an outdoor restaurant for a boutique hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. With white drapes, natural wood, and rattan furniture, they created a coastal chic outdoor restaurant for Lalas Bistro.
The intentional design of the space prioritizes flexibility, with the capability to adapt to different needs. A post-and-beam patio marks out the functional space of the outdoor restaurant and also adds a distinctive aesthetic element to the space. The square wooden columns and white drapes can be used to create different sizes of areas for customers as required.
To enhance the overall ambience and align with the hotel’s vibe, the design incorporates unique rattan “roof baskets”. These baskets hold plants and lights, give shade, and create artistic shadows that add character and appeal to the space.
To maintain the functionality of the outdoor restaurant in different weather conditions, Amazing Spaces By Aretha went for a retractable shading system supported by steel. This system offers the flexibility to allow sunlight in while protecting against rain. Remarkably, this was achieved without compromising the intended outlook of Lalas Bistro – Calm and Serene.
The outdoor restaurant also features a line art mural wall that adds character and depth to the environment, the result is a visually engaging focal point and a good backdrop for pictures.
