Sitting on over 12,000 sqm, the development features five (5) unique homes types that are sure to suit the spatial and housing needs for YOU and Family. In this article we take a detailed, inside look at the interior design scheme of the Tango- Nest Homes Lekki-Abijo’s 2 Bedroom apartment home type.

Inside the Tango: A generous 2 Bedroom Apartment.

You can almost certainly tell the interests and inclinations of a person by analyzing the character of their home. These days, a lot of people in Lagos opt for a home with a modern touch, adorned with contemporary decor elements that propel the home character, giving it a grand demeanour. More people are abandoning the plaid and floral sofa, heavy drapery and 50’s style decorating into the new, clean and bold.

The Tango unit is a reflection of the urban taste trend which captures the essence of city living with youthful flair and pace. The spaces are awash with au courant décor pieces, giving a distinct character to this lovely 2-bedroom home. This 120sqm apartment is zoned for privacy with two standard size bedrooms all ensuite; all generously laid out on one floor.

A shaded architectural plan of the home layout allows us to fully appreciate the spatial arrangement and functional composition (viewing from the top). From this view, we can see it’s composed of a generous living area and kitchen, spacious en suite bedrooms, and a visitor’s toilet neatly tucked into a corner.

A closer look reveals the intricacies of this neat layout. With bold patterns toned down with minimalistic white seating in the living room, it is an oasis of freshness and vibrancy. The parquet floors of the bedrooms are simply exquisite and the plush centre rugs with unique stripes and textures are divine.

White walls matched with the boiserie are a good combo which goes quite well with the monochrome checkered centre rug and colourful throw pillows: the atmosphere here breathes calmness and freshness. The boiserie is minimalist and appeals to the modern design lover. The display cubbies of the water dispenser niche and the simple line of wood console and mirror is a good way to keep things nifty and clean without overdoing it.

This TV wall with the two-tone colour of the console and display ledges is pure art on its own. The spotlights add dramatic lighting to the composition. The large sliding door/window by the left throws in so much natural light into the space and the dining area at one corner makes this – home sweet home!

White upper cabinets give the kitchen a subtle and neat look, while the arrangement introduces some dynamism to the space. The eco-friendly bamboo lower cabinets are matched nicely with the drawn curtains in the corner, adding a nice little touch to this pastel-coloured interior. There is a seamless blend of all the elements in this kitchen; with everything well-arranged and in place, cooking is made easy!

Extra storage arrangements are replete here and for a two bedroom apartment, this is super luxury. The natural flow of colours (beige, light wood and white) within this space fosters a sense of unity with minimal clashing.

The way the refrigerator is incorporated into the cabinetry, which runs from floor to ceiling is evidence that this is a clean, well-thought design! The recessed ceiling adds some depth, while the textures on the carrara backsplash keeps the ensemble visually exciting.

The exquisite parquet flooring extends to the walls as skirting creating a wholesome look. The wardrobe and TV console with ledge above is just the right colour and size for this warm and cozy master bedroom. The black frames on the pictures above the TV are matched nicely with the window frame. Everything comes together in visual harmony!

The headboard and bedside drawers is simple and elegant, and the picture frames adorning the wall is a touch of class making this a real haven! The way the curtains are drawn, letting in so much daylight – it’s magnificent. The modern Edison lamp by the bed draws little attention to itself, the silky peach bedspread and the polished silver hardware of the wardrobe are minute details that all work together to make this bedroom look très beau!

This second bedroom is striking with the rounded-edge display ledge in bright wood colour that can easily take your favourite indoor potted plant or your exotic figurines from fond memories of your trip to Dubai. The subtle wood colour of the bed-frame with side drawers is beautiful and seated atop the stripe-patterned centre rug, the effect is dramatic. The spotlight draws attention to the dreamy sights of the Eiffel tower against a backdrop of tall buildings and tourists in autumn. This has to be a collector’s coven!
