A well-designed nursery can be a haven for both parents and newborns, where precious memories are created. HOA Interiors created a gender-neutral nursery by selecting calming colors, arranging furniture thoughtfully, providing efficient storage solutions, and implementing smart light control.

HOA Interiors, an Interior Design firm Based in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria, selected a fitting colour scheme for this gender-neutral nursery. It incorporates three main colors: beige, brown, and white. The earthy tones blend together to produce a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere.

The soft and muted colors of the room are not only soothing to the eye but also versatile and gender-neutral, ensuring it’s appropriate as the child grows. Besides, the neutral colors go well with the room’s natural light, giving it an inviting and airy ambiance.

A nursery’s primary feature is the crib, which has been thoughtfully located in the space to prevent the baby from being exposed to direct sunlight or streetlight while napping or sleeping. A wardrobe is strategically positioned in close proximity for convenient access during grooming and changing routines.

The floor-to-ceiling beige drapes, coupled with white day curtains, are not just stylish but also highly functional. They provide blackout capabilities, effectively keeping harsh sunlight and streetlights at bay, creating a dark and restful atmosphere for the baby’s slumber.

The nursery’s layout is straightforward and practical. Divided into three primary zones—sleeping, feeding, and changing—it is designed to cater to the essential needs of both parents and infants. This functional zoning ensures that every aspect of childcare is integrated seamlessly within the room’s layout.

Another important feature is the rocking chair, placed in proximity to the crib. This arrangement encourages intimate moments of bonding and comfort between parent and child.

Storage is a critical consideration in any nursery, and HOA Interiors has addressed this need with style. Woven baskets not only add a pleasing texture to the room’s decor but also serve as practical storage for diapers, sheets, blankets, and other nursery items. The functional aspect of these baskets blends seamlessly with their aesthetic appeal.

Additionally, stuffed animals and some other decorative items have been strategically placed to serve as playful companions for the child. They add a touch of whimsy to the room, creating an inviting atmosphere for the baby.

The careful choice of colors, the thoughtful placement of furniture, and the meticulous attention to detail in storage and lighting make this nursery a haven for both parents and their little ones. It’s a space where practicality meets aesthetics, creating an environment that nurtures the well-being of the child and provides convenience for the parents.
