Top 3 Reasons This Modern Bedroom in Nigeria Sets the Trend

ISD Studios, a Nigerian interior design firm, shared images of a modern bedroom in Nigeria that caught our attention. The bedroom is part of a recently completed residential project, and, it features trendsetting and inspiring design choices worthy of note. Whether it’s their lighting direction or the style of the bed, follow us as we unpack the top 3 reasons this modern bedroom in Nigeria sets the trend.

1. Lighting Direction

For lighting direction, the bedroom incorporates a thoughtful mix of lighting fixtures for both functionality and aesthetic appeal. A sleek industrial-style wall lamp, a minimalist linear pendant light and a subtle cove light along the bed frame provide ample illumination while complementing the room’s design.

Also, we love the designer’s choice to do away with symmetry by pairing the linear pendant light and the wall light. Most designers would have opted for symmetry by using the same lights on both sides. The result is a more stylish, dynamic and unique space.

2. Extended Bed Frame

Another feature to note is the layered extended bed frame of the modern bedroom. It spans the entire bedroom length and features floating shelves that add visual interest, balance and practicality to the space. This is further layered with an upholstered bed frame extended on one side – offering additional seating, and possibly, storage – even though we’re not quite sure if it has additional storage embedded in it.

3. Muted Colour Palette

The bedroom adopts a sophisticated colour palette, featuring calm and muted tones. At first glance, the bedroom seems dull and understated, however, the more you look, the more you see. It’s clear the designers wanted to create a calming atmosphere with their choice of colour and material – like the dark and subtle colored wallpaper.

However, this subtle approach is well balanced and elevated with a strong sense of style seen in their lighting choices, the extended bed frame and other elements. The result is a cozy and stylish modern Nigerian bedroom.
