Nestled on a 1156sqm corner lot in the heart of Bal Harbour Village, this 593sqm home was designed for a family that truly enjoys outdoor living, the intimacy of family life, but at the same time love to entertain.
They have a passion for nature and therefore blurring the lines between the interior and the exterior of the home became our number one design goal. However, in the process of fulfilling this goal, the architect’s encountered a major challenge. The home would have its two main facades facing the street. Therefore privacy became another important factor that needed to be considered.
Taking all this into consideration the design developed as a play of volumes and planes that create a playful balance between interior privacy and outdoor views of the exterior landscape.
An open floorplan concept was adopted to make everyday living extremely comfortable for the entire family while being the perfect setup for entertaining. The main living areas are double-height volumes with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that fill the interior space with natural light while being completely surrounded by the spectacular views of the outdoors.
