HK Studio Unveils Sneak Peek of Durban Girls College Library Design

In a recent Instagram post, South Africa-based Interior Design Studio, HK Studio, offered a glimpse into their latest project – the design of the Durban Girls College Library.

The project involves the transformation of a stunning heritage building, originally opened in 1906, into a modern and functional library space. The sneak peek shared on Instagram by HK Studio has shown that the proposed library adopts a fluid flow of forms and functions with exposed ceiling beams as a rustic touch.

As seen in the images shared, HK Studio deliberately used different textures and materials to add character, decorate the space and map out different areas within the Durban Girls College Library. They also created different kinds of seating for different sizes of groups and different purposes.

As the design of the Durban Girls’ College library unfolds, we anticipate a space that not only pays homage to the building’s rich history but also reflects the innovative and meaningful approach that defines HK Studio’s portfolio.
