Shiftlag Unveils Perforated Aluminium Panel Facade For Interswitch's Innovation Lab

Dynamic Perforated Aluminium Panel Facade For Interswitch’s Innovation Lab By Shiftlag

Shiftlag, a computational design and digital fabrication firm in Lagos, recently revealed its just completed perforated aluminium panel facade – designed by BlackCountry for Interswitch’s Innovation Lab.

According to Shiftlag, the design of the perforated aluminium panel facade utilizes the principle of folded plate construction, which allows a thin material to be structurally rigid. The geometric pattern, characterized by a repetitive arrangement of triangles, adds depth and rhythm to the facade.

We were brought on board as computational design and digital fabrication specialists to help rationalize the design in terms of geometry output, material optimization, and assembly on site.

Repetitive three-dimensional perforated aluminium panels create the facade.

The facade’s intricate geometric patterns and material choices create a visually striking and dynamic exterior. Its rhythmic perforations, coupled with the interplay of blue, white, and red colors, further enhance the building’s appearance.
