Design Week South Africa, in collaboration with Young Urbanists, invites interested individuals to join their Open Streets Experiment, transforming Bree Street (including Shortmarket Street) into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly hub.
Supported by the Mayor’s office, the Open Streets Experiment, which began last Sunday, takes place every Sunday well into 2025. According to the organizers, the ongoing initiative is “part of a new approach to using tools to create safer streets through temporary installations and hands-on activities”.
Whether you’re walking, cycling, or skating, everyone is welcome! Bring your family and friends to be part of this interactive activation running through Transportation Month and beyond.
