A REVOLVING TABLE BY YUKI MIYAMOTO

Last updated:

Japanese architect Yuki Miyamoto offers a smart furniture solution for a small apartment in Tokyo belonging to a family with young children. The apartment lacked the space for a large table so Miyamoto designed what he has termed the revolving table. Basically, the table is such that it could be extended when needed and tucked away when not in use.

The table features a large circular table top and a smaller circular table top tucked underneath the former at a lower height. The larger table serves typcially as the dining table while the smaller table top can be extended out by simply turning and offer more space for the children’s playtime or homework.

It’s smart and simple, maximizing the small apartment size without making it feel choked up.
