Some innovations deserve to become mainstream. FRONT’s latest addition to the collection of beautiful interior wall claddings around the world is one of them. As with all new innovations, especially when it’s a climate positive one, we ask our media-contacts and ambassadors to help spreading the word. Simply because we think it’s super important.
Paper pulp turned into beautiful interior wall cladding.
11 millions of tonnes of paper waste cannot be recycled—until now. In partnership with Barcelona-based Alted Materials, FRONT® launches Paper Waste Panels, upcycling 722 kg of landfill waste with every 100m2 of interior wall cladding.
The paper industry generates millions of tons of cellulose fibres, which become too short after multiple recycling cycles to be reused through conventional methods. These fibres are often discarded in landfills, contributing to environmental waste.
Paper Waste Panels offer a solution by transforming fully recyclable, non-toxic boards made from these otherwise unusable fibres into beautiful interior wall cladding panels. Made primarily from paper industry waste and post-consumer cardboard, the boards are produced through a certified circular process that upcycles the discarded fibres into valuable materials. This innovative approach reduces landfill waste and contributes to a more sustainable future.
Launch of paper waste panels collection.
The first collection Paper Waste Panels is a series of decorative wall panels suitable for interior use. The panels allow architects and designers to create sustainable interiors without compromising aesthetics or performance. Available in customisable patterns and colours, the 600×600 mm panels are designed for ease of installation and maintenance, making them ideal for sectors such as retail, hospitality, and commercial spaces where flexibility and sustainability are essential.
In addition to their environmental benefits, Paper Waste Panels provide excellent durability, sound absorption, and air quality benefits, making them suitable for interior applications. The interior wall cladding panels are non-toxic, certified A+ for air quality, and demountable, allowing them to be reused in different configurations—an essential feature for projects where adaptability is key.
Alted Materials and FRONT® join forces for good.
The partnership between Alted Materials and FRONT® is founded on a shared vision of pushing the boundaries of material innovation and addressing the global waste problem.
Together, they demonstrate how materials traditionally considered waste can be transformed into sustainable solutions that reduce the environmental footprint and offer beautiful, functional, and high-performance design options.
