Design Week Lagos 2024, Africa’s premier design festival, returns from 23-27 October at Livespot Entertarium in Lagos, showcasing African design excellence through keynotes, exhibitions, and workshops focused on “The Role of Design in Economic Evolution”.
Founded by Titi Ogufere, Design Week Lagos 2024 features keynotes from thought leaders, including Her Excellency Hannatu Musawa, Nigerian Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Benedict Radcliffe, designer for Range Rover, Myles Igwebuike, curator of the Nigerian Pavilion at the London Design Biennale, Dr. Olusi, Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, and Osahon Akpata, Head of Canex (owned by Afreximbank).
DWL offers international design leaders and industry enthusiasts the chance to witness how design fosters economic prosperity and societal development.


The festival includes the Made by Design Show, Nigeria’s largest furniture trade event, with top brands like AFP by Julius Berger, Woodstyles, and Nettetal. The Design and Innovation Exhibition, running alongside, will display over 100 new products from 100 designers, including Tosin Oshinowo’s Àpótà Stool, Kanyinsade Ademuson’s Fold Series, Zoë Chinonso Ene’s IO Stool, Myles Igwebuike’s Oji, and Temitope El-shabazz’s V1-M (Ite Chair).

Attendees have the opportunity to participate in the Car Design Workshop, led by Benedict Radcliffe, in collaboration with Nigerian car designer, Dapo Akintunde. They are also offered the chance to attend the Leather Furniture Making Masterclass, supported by GU Ebeco, while the DWL Students’ Competition 2024, sponsored by NIPOST is open to young designers.
