In November 2014, we did a feature on a $500m Golden Stadium complex for the Republic of Congo designed by international architects PTW. This past September (2015) saw them play host to 40+ African nations in the All Africa games 2015 in that very stadium, now named the Kintélé Sports Complex located in Kintélé, 20km from the capital city Brazzaville and built by a Chinese Company.
The newly built Kintele sports complex features:
- A main 60,000-seat football field with a synthetic athletics track;
- A supplementary field with a synthetic athletics track;
- A supplementary field without a track;
- A 10,000-seat sports hall with a warm-up room;
- A 3,000-seat complex with a competition pool, a warm-up pool and a diving pool;
- Two 1,000-seat competition tennis courts;
- Three tennis training courts;
- Two outdoor handball training courts;
- Two outdoor basketball training courts;
- A beach volleyball competition court;
- A beach football field;
- Two outdoor volleyball training courts;
- An 8-lane bowling alley.
