Nigerian Architects, Studio Contra, share first photos on the recently completed Institute of Contemporary African Art and Film in Ilorin.

Following their engagement in 2019 to design an iconic new building to house the Institute of Contemporary African Art and Film in Ilorin, the construction has now reached practical completion and is intended as a “catalyst for cultural production in Ilorin”.

The building complex, captured by Tolulope Sanusi, incorporates contrasting materials, including reddish-brown metal cladding and expansive glass surface, creating a visually striking facade that accentuate the building appearance.

In all, the contrast between the building’s expressive roof, prominent curves and minimalist envelope give it a balanced outlook, reflecting the range of activities to be held within its spaces.
