Studio Contra, an architectural firm based in Lagos, recently unveiled a video of their recently completed residential project, Plantation Road, a luxury villa in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Designed in collaboration with TOKITU Studio from Bilbao, Spain, the private luxury villa in Ilorin accommodates several user groups, including intimate family, extended family, guests, staff, and a private mosque.
The project redefines traditional luxury villa design in Ilorin by dividing a single volume into multiple spaces connected with courtyards. These courtyards balance privacy and permeability, with each space carefully landscaped to suit the specific needs of the users.
Water features enhance the microclimate, creating a fresh and calming environment throughout the outdoor spaces. Built by Karakas Development and Properties Ltd, the project’s unique integration of architecture with nature sets it apart.
