Ugandan design and build firm, LocalWorks, invites interested individuals to Localtalks 01.25, a hybrid event on Participatory Design: Collaboration, Co-creation, and Empowerment.
This event brings together experts including Christopher Cripps, an urban planner with extensive experience in participatory design, Lawrence J Okoth, Design and Innovation Director at Design without Borders Africa (DwB) and Team Lead at The Object Lab Uganda, and Mara Forbes, a Technical Advisor at Cities Alliance in Kampala, Uganda.
This session of Localtalks will be focused on the topic of Participatory Design in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Christopher Cripps will explain how participatory design has been successfully implemented in urban environments. Lawrence J Okoth will share reflections on DwB’s participatory design processes while Mara Forbes will share her experiences working with slum dwellers in various participatory slum upgrading projects and programmes.
