Rarely do you see contemporary design so intricately and masterfully combined with more traditional and classic aesthetics. This approach is exemplified in this large and luxurious, 2 storey residence in Austin, Texas, built by Cornerstone architects.
Rough cut stone and dark wood siding, characterise the exterior, with tall windows trimmed by black metal. On the inside, you are greeted by a confluence of contemporary style and rustic, ornate pieces and accents. Withing the well planned spaces you find texture and stain blending with clean lines and pristine finishes to create a vintage yet trendy appeal that embodies so much character. Its not my forte or my typical approach to design, but, it is inspiring enough for me to begin exploring such possibilities.
The home is full of flavour, colour and texture, with varying details, finishes and materials that while here in the present echo the creativity and design of the past.
