The Songjiang Quarry Hotel, officially known as the Shimao Wonderland Intercontinental, is one of the most viewed projects on Livin Spaces. The audacious hotel development is a multi-storey complex of steel and glass nestled into a 90+ meter high rockface of a previously abandoned, water-filled quarry in the satellite town of Songjiang, China.
The design studio behind the project JADE+QA, recently shared with us images of construction progress on the site (as at early December) as well as renderings by studio MIR of the finalised building and landscape designs by Landscape studio BAM.
With the facade now about 80% complete and the general fit-out progressing well, the project is set to be completed later this year. You can follow JADE+QA on twitter to stay up to date on the project progress and see some of their other work.
