The Jewel Changi Airport by Safdie Architects which features the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, a lush indoor forest, and a green trail of airport amenities, is close to completion.
As published by Safdie Architects, 90% of the Airport’s construction has been completed, including the full enclosure and the installation of the ETFE oculus piece. The crash deck has been fully removed and work now begins to gradually activate the conditioning systems and install the interior planting. Now completely visible are the steel tree columns which support the grid shell roof, designed together with Buro Happold in New York City and RSP Engineers in Singapore. The scheme is set to open on April 17th of this year.
