Architect, Product Designer, Writer and principal of Lagos-based ARG Studio, Chuka Ihonor will be discussing and exhibiting his process of creativity at the Mind at Work Exhibition. Organised by the African Artists’s Foundation, the exhibition seeks to explore the iconicity of thinking, inviting creators from different disciplines to showcase their very intimate and intrinsic methods of visual experimentation, in a bid to give some insight into the process of creativity.
The event will hold on Saturday the 23rd of June 2018 at 3b Isiola Close, off Adeleke Adedoyin, Victoria Island Lagos, by 5pm with a panel discussion for the artists kicking off by 6:30pm.
As described on the ARG Studio facebook page, the work of Chuka Ihonor, (who also happens to be the convener of the monthly 9H Design talk) as an architect fits within the Modernist conversation, adapting to the Nigerian situation through abstraction of commonly regarded spatial dynamics, organisation, narrative and hierarchy. Single buildings may not impact greatly on a city, but they teach lessons and open up possibilities for development of the urban fabric.
