Ocean Blue Apartments in Kenya by Urko Sanchez Architects

Last updated:

Located in Kikambala, a settlement at Kenya’s former Coast Province, this development, which is currently under construction is a prime example of tropical modernism.

Sun-shading elements, large terraces, and modern geometry come together in proper balance and harmony as envisioned by Urko Sanchez architects. They have designed 20 villas and 32 apartments for this exclusive complex, a gorgeous beachfront property with amazing scenery. The architecture takes advantage of the plot’s incline, dividing it into three rows facing the sea, each and every residence offering an ocean view. The project also offers a selection of entertainment and leisure options, including restaurants, a beach bar, sports facilities, shops and various swimming pools.

Giant louvers are featured all over the apartments to protect their interiors from the intense sun and heat. Constructed entirely from an environmentally-conscious point of view, we preserved the original palm trees which create a ring around the bottom of Kikambala, as well as using solar energy and a biodigester.
