JADE+QA, the architects behind the internationally acclaimed Songjiang Quarry Hotel in Shanghai, recently shared with us, renderings for yet another hotel project in China – The Jo Lalli Resort.
The project which is located in the beautiful countryside of the Moganshan mountains near Hangzhou in China, is inspired by the nature of its location, from the mountains to the misty clouds over them. This is evident in the elegantly sinuous curves that characterize the resort building. This center-piece structure covers an area of 14,000 sqm spread across 4 levels and features a banqueting hall, meeting and conference rooms, cafes, restaurants and bars. There are also administrative offices for the resort and the back of the house facilities for the whole resort located in the basement.
Aside from the engaging form, the building also wears a captivating facade that appears to be primarily made up of curved vertical fins which serve as sun shading devices.
