Malan Vorster Architecture shared images of a new residential building in Constantia, Western Cape, South Africa, that showcases functional indoor-outdoor living design.
The residence features rough sandblasted concrete elements, resembling faceted boulders, integrating with the natural landscape. A triangular reflection pond and continuous watercourse enhance sensory engagement and tranquility. Utilizing natural materials such as granite and slate, the design creates a multi-sensory experience that harmonizes with the environment.
The landscaping, crafted by Franchesca Watson, complements this architectural vision, fostering unity and serenity. This project, a collaboration with Lookbook Studio, showcases photography by Elsa Young and art direction by Charl Francois Edwards. Malan Vorster Architecture’s innovative approach ensures that indoor and outdoor spaces blend seamlessly, creating a harmonious and tranquil living environment.
