Inspired by the Ocean, this 27sqm Urban Contemporary Living room was designed and fully fitted out with custom-made furniture pieces and styling elements by Nigerian architecture and interior design firm, Maison Consulting.
The design theme sought to infuse ocean-inspired color accents, tones, and textures to create the most refreshing & welcoming feel for the client. Affectionately name “project aquarelle”, the design team sought to create a space that brings about the same calm & serenity you feel when you’re by the ocean. Incorporating the aforementioned colours and textures with well layered lighting created the right ambience, which invokes a calming and soothing experience akin to basking in a “safe haven”.
When it comes to fitting out a residential space, apart from the essentials like furniture, styling & decor pieces are integral. All styling elements selected for this space were carefully thought out and deliberate in harmonising the brief. From the art on the walls, to the throws, vases, the statement clock, the flowers and potted plants, etc. each of these elements accentuated the design theme.
