Irish design studio Perch have created a modular seating solution with a unique armrest structure that allows you move freely within your seat and engage with friends or colleagues in a chat or meeting. This new product is called Float, .
As Perch describes it,
Float enriches the workspace environment by improving interpersonal space and enhancing meaningful interactions. As a truly flexible solution Float is designed to improve dynamic short-term workflow.
From research, they were able to identify the need for a design that caters to natural group sizes as well as applied body spaces during the aforementioned “meaningful interactions”. This led to the creation of Float, as a modular seating solution that is both comfortable and functional, offering a haven in what is referred to as the “Third space” within which social engagement can thrive.
Though designed by Perch, the seats are manufactured by Thomas Montgomery.
