The Design Intersect 2024 Exhibition, a dynamic collaboration between iDesign by Tola Akerele and SOTO Gallery, recently concluded after a month of showcasing the richness of Nigerian craftsmanship during Design Week Lagos.
Held at SOTO Gallery, the exhibition which held from the 26th to the 31st of October, 2024 featured curated works by local artisans and designers, bringing the finest of Nigerian artistry to the forefront. At the opening reception, iDesign’s founder Tola Akerele expressed her admiration for the intricate detailing and cultural significance behind each piece, noting how each design was locally produced with exceptional quality.
One highlight was the display of ceramic and brass vessels, adding an abstract, airy aesthetic. The Balvenie brand also supported the event, aligning with the craftsmanship theme. Through panel discussions and workshops, Design Intersect 2024 left a lasting impression on attendees, reinforcing Lagos’ role as a vibrant hub for innovative design.
