Myles Igwe Appointed Curator of The Nigerian Pavilion At The London Design Biennale 2025

Nigerian artist and designer, Myles Igwe, has been appointed curator of the Nigerian Pavilion at the London Design Biennale 2025. The forthcoming exhibition is scheduled to hold from 5–29 June 2025 at Somerset House, London.

Myles Igwe, founder of Nteje Studios and an esteemed member of the Design Week Lagos community, will curate the Nigerian Pavilion, titled ‘Hopes and Impediments,’ which presents a thought-provoking “installation inspired by the critical essays of renowned writer Chinua Achebe.”

Just as Achebe examined the intersections of art, modernism, and heritage, this pavilion unpacks the complex layers of Nigeria’s individual and collective identity—by reimagining the South-Eastern Lejja community as a future social capital.

The Nigeria Pavilion presents ‘Hopes and Impediments’ —an installation considering identity, memory, and culture.

Overall, the biennial promises to offer a “powerful and critical reflection on how identities are shaped, not just by personal experience, but by the collective memories, shifting histories, values, and realities that bind a community together.”
