This video is part of a series from MASS Design Group titled “Beyond the Building”. Its explores their work on the Gheskio Cholera Treatment Center in Haiti collaborating with local metal workers and builders in an effort to leverage their local techniques and provide on-the-job training.
This Collaborative process facilitated by MASS’s Adam Saltzman (who has lived in Haiti since 2011) demonstrates how valuable building can be in engaging and dignifying a community. The local labourers testify to the experience of working on the project as both exciting and enlightening at the same time.
