Abuja-based interior design firm, dhk Designs, created a dark-themed contemporary home in Abuja that stands out with its dark and sophisticated color palette. The use of different shades of black, grey, and navy blue dominates the aesthetic, creating a unique ambiance that is both bold and contemporary.
The interior spaces are characterized by a careful interplay of colors, with occasional deep pops of vibrant hues through carefully curated decor elements. This intentional infusion of color adds a layer of interest to the otherwise muted palette of this dark-themed contemporary home.

In the living area, the entertainment zone is defined by a compact L-shaped sectional sofa complemented by a brown leather lounger. Centered around a black cuboid coffee table and positioned atop a bordered off-white area rug, this arrangement creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The television is strategically placed against a textured dark wall, accentuated by a black floating TV console.
Adjacent to the entertainment zone is the dining area, featuring a Nordic-style 4-seater dining table set against a backdrop of a black cupboard. This cohesive design approach ensures a harmonious flow between different functional zones within the open living space.
The bedroom, designed with a personalized touch, showcases dhk Designs’ ability to create a homely atmosphere. Full-length blackout curtains in a deep black hue, paired with white blinds, add a layer of sophistication and softness to the windows.
