DIY: How to build the Zig Zag Sofa, a DIY sofa by homemade modern

Last updated:

Designed by the team at homemade modern, the Zig Zag sofa is an intriguing DIY sofa which features a simple yet peculiar angular form and built-in counter along the back. Its perfect for small spaces and offers dual functionality thanks to the aforementioned counter.

The frame for this DIY sofa is made out of ¾” thick plywood (25mm),  2 x 10 (50 x 250 mm) timber, about 3 pieces of 2 x 4 (50 x 100 mm) timber.. Foam and Leather for the cushions can be acquired locally.

Only 3 tools are required to put the frame sofa together namely, a cordless drill, circular saw and orbital sander. Here’s a quick rundown of the steps via this cheatsheet courtesy homemade modern, but you can get the full details and step by step process including images on their website. Enjoy.
