Infinite Construction created an art deco living room design for a residential project in Ikoyi. This project involved the renovation of a living area that was previously characterized by a darker and less welcoming atmosphere. The result is a vibrant and inviting space.
The previous look of the living room was characterized by dark shades on the textured walls, floor, and furnishings. The stark contrast with the white from the blinds, air conditioning, and ceiling created a striking but somewhat jarring effect.
Bringing light and life into the room, Infinite Construction introduced a fresh color palette that ranged from bright whites and soothing off-whites to a gentle gradient transitioning from orange to grey and finally to black. This thoughtful color scheme not only enhances the visual appeal of the Art Deco living room but also creates the illusion of more space, making the room more welcoming.
The living room, now a multifunctional space, accommodates various activities, including entertainment, dining, lounging, and gaming. The transformation began with the entertainment area, where the seating layout received a chic update.
Two eye-catching mustard yellow accent chairs, paired with a silver chalice side table, added a touch of vibrancy. The grey sectional chairs made way for off-white loveseats, while the black cuboid center table was replaced with a glossy brown-top art deco center table, complemented by glass side tables.
To further contribute to the illusion of space in the art deco living room, a larger area rug was introduced to elegantly space out the seats. The media wall received a brighter and more commanding presence, while the removal of two windows not only provided more wall space for artwork but also eliminated any glare that might have affected TV time.
Moving on to the dining area, Infinite Construction curated a clean, contemporary look with predominantly white pieces. The 6-seater dining table, featuring a glass top and white legs, was surrounded by six white seats.
The setup was centered around a white console paired with an amorphous mirror. To infuse depth and character, bold black and white sculptures and art were introduced. The dining area also benefited from an area rug, mirroring the one in the entertainment area, completing the cohesive feel of the art deco living room.
In the lounge area near the lift, Infinite Construction furnished the space with an inviting off-white sofa set and an exquisite pebble center table, all resting gracefully atop an elaborate area rug. Just as in the dining area, this space was given a unique personality with the inclusion of striking artwork.
The gaming area, where a pool table takes center stage, is designed for entertainment and relaxation. This space boasts a TV wall and single soft seating with side tables for added comfort.
Infinite Construction’s attention to detail extended to the lighting. The general lighting of the space was upgraded to create an even and welcoming ambiance. Drop-down chandeliers added focused lighting that complements the various functions of the art deco living area.
To put the finishing touches on this remarkable transformation, pieces of decoration in the form of plants, sculptures, and carefully chosen artwork were strategically placed, enhancing the overall aesthetic and providing a sense of completeness to the art deco living room.
