Earlier this month, we paid a visit to the 2018 edition of Essential Interiors’ “made by design” exhibition which held at the landmark center, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This being the 3rd edition of the annual event, featured a broad selection of brands which cater predominantly to the Nigerian Luxury Home and Hospitality industry, including top interior designers, real estate developers and a wide array of made in Nigeria products. Here’s a look at some of what caught our attention as well as a selection of our favourite things from the event.
SOME OF OUR FAVOURITE THINGS
Universal Furniture
Bespoke kitchen cabinetry and storage accessories with RawUrban Kitchenware by DA Brand on display
Woodstyles
Bespoke Cabinetry, Furniture Design and Interior Finishes including appliances by Miele. Inventive use of LED strip lighting.
Interstyle Ceramics
The Axor collections of Phillipe Starck and Patricia Urquiola along with a new line of showers and faucets from Hansgrohe. Most notable was the ‘remote-controlled’, ‘auto-WC’ by Geberit, that literally handles everything, all you need to do is sit.
Ile Ila and Caxton Alile Living
The Adunni and Line Chairs by Ile Ila and a table lamp from the bridge collection by Caxton Alile Living
James Cubitt Interiors
An interesting mix of modern design and materials
AFP Furniture Production
Great single pieces and spatial compositions from the Abuja-based manufacturer. Very stylish and practical designs that could fit in any home.
