Job Description

Trucrete Solutions Ltd, a construction company based in Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking to hire a highly efficient Senior Construction Manager capable of working in a fast-paced environment who will coordinate and manage all technical affairs of the organization and report all technical matters to the Chief Operating Officer of the organization.

Job Overview

Minimum Qualification: MSc Architecture, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or any relevant course of study with relevant professional certifications.

Experience Level: Senior level

Experience Length: 15 years minimum

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating all technical affairs of the company.
  • Planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
  • Preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates.
  • Planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitoring progress against established schedules.
  • Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Developing and implementing quality control programs.
  • Representing the company on matters such as business services and contracts negotiation.
  • Preparing progress reports and issuing progress schedules to management (and clients, where the need demands).
  • Hiring and supervising the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.
  • Provide direct management of key functional managers in the business unit.
  • Ensuring the availability of proper construction and administration contracts and the gathering of all the necessary licenses and permits.
  • Reporting to the chief operating officer on the progress of a project and necessary modifications that has to be executed.
  • Ensuring the availability of needed resources including man power, equipment and materials, from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Ensuring that appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites are obtained.

Requirements

  • MSc in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or any relevant course of study with relevant professional certifications.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ work experience.
  • Strong leadership and business management skill.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill.
  • Must possess excellent negotiation and numeracy skills.
  • Must possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills and must be detail-oriented.
  • Experience in construction estimating or finance, added advantage.
