Job Description

Vivabella Designs are looking to hire a creative Interior Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate is expected to have a good understanding of space planning to create functional layouts, as well as demonstrate top notch creativity in styling, material and colour selection. The candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision and still be able to conceptualize, design and implement timeless, beautiful, and functional spaces true to the Vivabella Designs brand

Responsibilities

  • Outline and understand client objectives.
  • Develop concept plans and design solutions from an understanding of client objectives.
  • Create mood boards and colour schemes to illustrate concepts, ideas and proposals.
  • Material selection and sourcing.
  • Produce detailed working drawings and specifications.
  • Outline the timeline for the completion of projects.
  • Outline project requirements and cost for completion of project.
  • Supervise site activities to ensure all specifications are met.
  • Work efficiently with the design team, contractors and other members of the team.

Requirements

  • A degree qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or a related field of study. Specialist training in the above is also acceptable.
  • Proven track record of designing and managing large scale projects at the high end of the market with very limited direction.
  • Confident in acting as project leader on small scale projects
  • Ability to interface with clients interpreting and delivering their requirements
  • Experience in training and coaching junior designers
  • Proficient in managing and tracking projects to create a smooth flow of work within the practice
  • Knowledge of high-end residential FF&E procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of technical design with proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • A very good understanding of space planning with an eye for detail
  • Skilled in creating mood boards, colour schemes and material selection.
  • Must have good communication and presentation skills.
  • Good attitude and appreciation for company ethos
  • Must be a team player – able to work well with other members of the team, as well as be able to manage multiple stakeholders.
