Job Description

Episode Interiors, an industry-leading interior design and decoration company is looking to hire an Accountant/Operation Executive.

Job Purpose:

  • An Accountant/Operations Executive to oversee all accounting activities of the company. Is responsible for the day-to-day aspects of the company’s accounting and financial bookkeeping while ensuring that all financial records and statements are accurate.
  • The Accountant/Operations Executive is also responsible for the day-to-day administrative tasks within the company/external outlets.
  • The Accountant/Operations Executive will be responsible for rendering accounts/admin services to the 3 strategic business units from the head office.

Gender : Male or Female.

Residential Location: Proximity must not be too far to Lagos Island – Ikoyi.

Qualifications: HND or A Bachelor Degree In Accounting.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Accounting Functions

  • Provide interpreting financial information
  • Monitor and interpret cash flows
  • Formulating strategic and long-term business plans
  • Report factors influencing business performance
  • Develop financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction and cost optimization opportunities
  • Manage financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems
  • Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out
  • Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations such as the FIRS and LIRS
  • Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
  • Handle stock taking and submit reports to GM/MD/CEO
  • Preparation of bank reconciliation statements
  • Provide back office services such as accounts payable, collection.
  • Providing insights on the financial health of the organization.
  • Ensure the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues.
  • Create and process invoices
  • Cross-check invoices with payments and expenses to ensure accuracy
  • Manage a company’s accounts payable and receivable
  • Send bills and invoices to clients
  • Track organizational expenses
  • Communicate with clients regarding billing and payments
  • Calculate and prepare staff commission and payroll
  • Achieve financial objectives by anticipating requirements; submitting information for budget preparation; scheduling expenditures; monitoring costs; analyzing variances

Operational Functions:

Supervise the daily operations of the business – sales and marketing, projects, accounts, human resources and administration. This at the minimum involves the following:

  • Development, maintenance and supervision of the implementation of all internal strategies (at the head office and outlets) policies and procedures to enhance the smooth running of the organization.
  • Maintenance of office services by organizing office operations and procedures; preparing payroll; controlling correspondence; designing filing systems; reviewing and approving supplyrequisitions; assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
  • Supervision of all HR administrative matters and implement HR Supervision of all HR administrative matters and implement HR induction procedures. Handle administrative matters such as leave/sick roast, ID cards preparation and HMO employee registration, etc.
  • Handling the ordering of office supplies, office equipment, office furniture and ensure all hardware and software is working. He/she is also responsible for office diesel purchase and all power related concerns.
  • Working with customer service to ensure prices in the show room are up-to-date at all of episode’s office.
  • Managing HR related matters such as payroll administration and personnel management (recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees).
  • Assisting to pay vendors/taxes as delegated.
  • Ensuring office utilities/equipment (such as photocopiers, printers, computers, stationeryetc.) are properly handled and maintained.
  • Ensure office is stocked with necessary supplies and all equipment is working and properly maintained.
  • Report daily and weekly financial and operational performance of the company’s externaloutlets/ head office.
