The event which is targeting students and recent graduates, will take place next Thursday, the 27th of October, 2016, and will be held in two parts;

WORKSHOP

A critical design thinking workshop beginning at 10am at the British Council in Ikoyi.

The workshop session will be with AAND members looking at the theme with a maximum of 10 students, split into 2 groups of 5 each. Topics to be discussed range from questions like ” How do we think?” and “Does critical thinking exist in our discourse and language?” to “Are we taught to investigate?” and “Is ignorance an excuse in the digital age?” among others points.

SYMPOSIUM

An Evening Symposium from 6 – 8pm where a discussion around the same theme will be held and moderated by design practitioners.

The symposium looks to explore how we as designers understand and engage with the creative process and investigate if our progress as a continent of designers is being hindered by a lack of engagement in critical thinking. It asks if new ideas, new structures and a new approach can be created to move us forward.
