The man made islands of Dubai’s ‘The World’ will be home to a fleet of buoyant homes known as “The Floating Seahorse”.
The big attraction of these $2.8 million dollar villas is the master bedroom, which is underwater, and features a massive window, making the surrounding waters into massive fish tank. Developed by European real estate and property developer, Kleindienst, the single room, floating villa spans over 350 sqm across three levels each with unique special features, state-of-the-art technology and outdoor climate controlled areas.
Over 125 floating villas are planned for completion by 2018, all of which will be linked to a man-made archipelago, called the Heart of Europe, within the World Islands development. More than 200 specialists and professionals from 25 different countries have been involved in the Floating Seahorse project. Here’s what the first prototype looks like.

For more detail and information on the development, I’d suggest taking a look at this article from the daily mail, and if you’d like to see how the structure was built, here’s a time lapse video of the construction of the world’s first floating sea horse.
