The site is located within the diplomatic zone in Katampe extension area of Abuja, a few minutes drive off the city center. It is trapezoid in shape and measures at 4,835sqm with extension of an additional 2,804sqm directly behind the existing plot – combined size of both plots measures at 7,639sqm.
To meet the demands of the client to develop a well planned integrated community targeted at middle income families, young couples and single professional, inspired by contemporary Middle eastern and Mediterranean architecture, the designers intend to create “iconic” living environment with each building positioned to enjoy vast and almost unobstructed view of the magnificent surrounding landforms.
Planted by the foot of the hills, the buildings’ form is designed to mimic the surrounding hills with their undulating walls and planes. Sleek steel slats run from the front of the building through the top and down to the rear like water streaks on mountains face.
Apart for reason of view towards the distant hills, the buildings are slanted to also give some level of privacy to each unit by ensuring they are not looking directly into each other. In the process, the word ZAMA could be morphed out from the buildings’ layout. All the units have been designed for feature generous roof gardens for leisure and family activities.
