Interior By Stratford, a Nigerian interior design studio, created a monotone living room with qualities that immediately draw you in, followed by the comforting ambiance of soft olive green hues. Not until then do you begin to notice the marble in the furniture and settle into the textured wall.
The space is sandwiched by a grey carpeted floor and a simple grey ceiling. The walls are grey to match except for the green wall in the recreation area. It is naturally lit up by a big window treated with drapes for light control.
The monotone living room is simply furnished with an angled sectional sofa and an armless single sofa with a marble-patterned side table and glass-top coffee table. The television wall is directly opposite this setup and consists of a black open shelf joinery for storage with a textured wall back drop.
One feature that sets this space apart is the introduction of a recreation area behind the seating area that contains a billiard table, a dark-coloured sofa, and a console for storage. A round three-seater dining table similar to the side tables in the seating area, is paired with three avant-garde seats positioned in a corner by the main entrance door.
Opposite the window wall is a symmetrically adorned wall with a retro-style dark grey door in the middle. On each side of the wall is a cream-coloured console paired with a big green framed figure painting with focus lights accentuating these main features. Green-coloured decor items were also placed on the consoles to add more green hues to the space.
Overall, this monotone living room by Interior By Stratford is both edgy and comforting. With tactile properties, an infusion of vibrant green hues, and a recreative function, this living room definitely stands out.
