Nigeria-based interior design firm, HOA Interiors designed a modern galley kitchen for a household. Accessed through glass bi-folding doors, the space features a color scheme that is a blend of black and white, with warm wood accents that add a touch of natural charm to the space.
The galley layout is both classic and efficient, making the most of the available space. A central island takes the design to the next level, providing a versatile area for prep work, dining, and socializing.
The predominantly black and white color scheme is a bold choice that exudes timeless elegance. The base cabinets, with their flush doors and drawers, create a seamless and sleek look, accentuating the minimalist aesthetic. The top cabinets extend all the way to the ceiling, maximizing storage space and adding a sense of grandeur to the modern galley kitchen.
On one galley, you’ll find the cooking area, complete with a sleek cooker and a matching cooker hood, a refrigerator, and a convenient microwave. A section of the top cabinets in this galley is done in brown wood to soften the space. The other galley hosts the sink and more top cabinets with glass doors
The white countertops bring a sense of crispness to the modern galley kitchen design, offering a clean surface for meal preparation. Contrasting this, the black backsplash adds a bold, dramatic touch to the space, creating a striking visual contrast that’s as functional as it is beautiful.
The island serves as the focal point, adorned in chic black cabinetry with a white countertop. It not only provides additional workspace but also offers seating for two people, making it an ideal spot for casual breakfasts and conversations. Overhead, four drop-down lights create a cozy atmosphere, casting a warm glow over the island’s counter.
The kitchen is bathed in natural light thanks to a wide window with white blinds, which can be adjusted to filter the daylight just right. This window not only enhances the ambiance but also connects the kitchen to the outside world.
In this modern galley kitchen, the combination of black, white, and wood elements results in a timeless and sophisticated design – creating a culinary workspace that serves both practical and visual purposes.
