Vrymansfontein is a unique leisure, wine, and dining destination, proudly brought to life by Source IBA for Vondeling Wines. The project encompasses a restaurant – Scape, and a wine-tasting bar – The Tree Bar, both epitomizing the essence of Vondeling Wines.
Source IBA’s vision materialized into Scape, a picturesque restaurant that seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor dining. Nordic simplicity defines the interior, with cork lights by Wiid Designs illuminating the space. Visual interaction contributes greatly to how satisfied a customer is by the experience in places like Scape. This is why Source IBA used materials and texture to evoke depth and bring character into the space, especially in the open kitchen and the bar.
The interesting view of the scape around the area was vividly captured by the designer who even went to the extent of bringing the outdoors in with large indoor trees. They also did this by extensively using grained wood in different components within the space including the flooring of the outdoor dining deck.
One notable feature of this restaurant by Source IBA is the open kitchen. The open kitchen adds a dynamic touch, creating a sensory delight for patrons. Patrons are able to appreciate the process behind the preparation of the food by Chef Grobler’s team of chefs.
Adjacent to Scape, The Tree Bar echoes its style but exudes an airier ambiance. Mirroring the outdoors, this space seamlessly blends with nature. The custom-designed space also showcases a trio of oil paintings, each representing a property within the Vondeling family.
Vrymansfontein emerges as more than a dining destination; it is a harmonious blend of heritage, culinary excellence, and the celebration of award-winning wines. Source IBA’s thoughtful design brings each element together, creating an unforgettable experience in Paarl, South Africa
