The Juno Beach Residence in Florida by Krista+Home Design is a Family Friendly Beach Bungalow with a Nautical Aesthetic

Jessica Glynn

Krista+Home Design recently shared with us images of their  interior design work for the Juno Beach residence.

Located in Juno beach, Florida the 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom residence was envisioned as a classic, modern coastal home that is family friendly, comfortable and perfect for entertaining.

A deliberate yet subtle nautical aesthetic runs through the interior decor of the home, from the open plan living area to the great room which flows seamlessly (and fittingly) out onto a water front yard.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

There is something a bit magical about Juno Beach, Florida. The intra coastal, buzzing with fishing boats, yachts and paddleboarders, the shiny red lighthouse from nearby Jupiter and the tiki bars that line the waterfront make those lucky enough to live here feel like they are always on vacation.

This Key West style bungalow is nestled on a prime piece of land, overlooking the water. The large oak tree, complete with swing makes this the perfect spot for a family home. There is a large dock to accommodate the family’s boat. The ample yard provided plenty of space to build a resort-style pool, outdoor kitchen and fishing station.

Front Entrance

When it came to the interior design of the home, the client’s wanted a fresh, classic look that was comfortable and practical.  They wanted some coastal elements that were realized in a modern way. Everything needed to be family friendly and comfortable.

Open Plan Living Area

Krista Watterworth Alterman’s design includes an open floor plan with a modern lounge area that opens up to the outdoor spaces and maximizes the view.  The color palette is light and airy.  Special features of the design include a sliding barn door to separate the main areas from the spectacular waterfront guest suite, a children’s dining and art area, a cozy master suite and a modern home office.

Kitchen/Dining Room with Sliding Barn Doors

This home has been designed with an eye toward contemporary coastal with classic touches throughout. There is a beautiful, open and airy vibe to this South Florida home. It feels like a luxury vacation spot for a celebrity clientele. Yet it is a family friendly home that is perfectly tailored and functional. Shiplap clad ceilings, oversized barn door, soaring beamed ceilings, seamless transition outdoors with large pivot sliders, wide plank French Oak flooring, and water views from just about every room make this home a stunning example of the interior design from Krista Watterworth Alterman of Krista + Home.
