Lagos-based interior design firm, Gemona West Interiors recently shared with us their work for Providus Bank which involved creating a lounge for the bank’s high net worth customers in branches across Lagos and Abuja.
The lounge, which took 2 months to complete, is a homely and relaxing space offering views of the surrounding hustle and bustle of Victoria Island without the commensurate noise. A restrained, dark colour palette paired with a prominent use of the brand’s colour as an accent does well to define the tone of the space which is intended to exude wealth. Lush arm chairs and velvet sofas, as well as steel and glass centre tables and area rugs help to introduce varying degrees of texture to the lounge. These also compliment the richness of the natural wood bar, along with the ambient/mood lighting adding a sense a warmth the lounge.
All the elements work together to create a lounge that departs from the clinical formality that one would find in most banks, to a warm, slightly homely aesthetic that does exude wealth while connecting with its corporate origin.
