Adeyemo Shokunbi is the face of Unknown II, a Publication by A3: Archives of African Architectures

Adeyemo Shokunbi, the Nigerian architect behind the recently completed Abijo Mosque, will be the face of the next edition of Unknown Publication.

This follows A3: Archives of African Architectures’ broad goal for the inclusion of un(der)documented architectural styles, practices, movements, practitioners and in the words of its founder, Baba Oladeji, “erase the anonymity of the African architect forever”.

The forthcoming Unknown publication titled ‘Adeyemo Shokunbi in Detail’ unearths the meticulous details often associated with Shokunbi’s craft but is also unafraid to shed the moralist toga around the topic of how an architect organizes his business.

The launch date will be a hybrid, intimate dialogue with the architect on Saturday, 11th December 2021 and the guest editor is Chuka Ihonor, Chairman of Open House Lagos Board and a practicing architect in his own right.

Also, the publication is available to pre-order here via our online bookshop. The inaugural edition which spotlighted the architectural collective ‘The CIA-Lagos of 1999, out of which Freedom Park was born is also available for purchase here.
