How Samantha Josaphat is Working to Get more African American Women into Architecture

Less than 1% of registered architects in the U.S. are Black women, Samantha Josaphat is working to change that.

In this video courtesy Now This, we learn the inspiration behind Samantha starting her own multidisciplinary firm, STUDIO 397, barely 5 years after school, and shortly after becoming the 397th African American female architect to achieve licensure in the United States. She is actively working to improve office culture in architecture practices across America as the President of the New York Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects and also as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the City College of New York.
