This week on interiors by design, Lead judge and mentor, Titi Fowora takes the contestants on a journey into retail design, highlighting the thought process and considerations when developing retail spaces.
The 6 remaining contestants paid a visit to top fashion retailer, Grey Velvet as well as popular bake shop, nuts about cakes to get a feel for the in’s and out’s of retail design. They touched on topics such as size, traffic flow, security and lighting and were put to the test with a challenge to come up with a schematic design for a sample space in a shopping mall.
The judges had their say, with this week’s guest judge Tracy Nwapa, of Interior Culture by Obiageli, offering her insights. As you’d expect there were winners and losers, and unfortunately one of the contestants had to go “back to the drawing board”, leaving us with the final 5.
