Our client is a leading railway engineering consultancy looking to recruit an experienced Civil Works Design Manager for a major railway project in Nigeria, and also to assist international project teams which the company is engaged in. The ideal candidate for the role will be a Degree qualified Civil Engineer with strong design and project engineering experience for both trackside and stations and buildings assets. With a good appreciation for multi-disciplinary design management between rail civils works and E&M systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead the engineering design production of commuter railway lines and other rail transit projects in Nigeria.
• Manage the design process through the preliminary and detailed design phases.
• Preparation of presentations and reports for the client.
• Monitor design changes across the project life-cycle.
• Meets client quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
• Required to lead projects and coordinate the efforts of rail team.
• Interact with clients on a regular basis.
• Provide technical direction to and mentors technical staff.
• Be involved in tenders for other international projects, and coordinate with international design offices.

Requirements to apply

• University Degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
• 15+ years professional experience in civil engineering design and project engineering on railway projects.
• Good overall experience across civil trackside assets, buildings and their interfaces with track and E&M systems.
• Confident self starter with experience in managing a team of engineers.
• Fluent in English language.
