Structural Engineer at Izedon Industries
Job Description
Izedon Industries is looking to engage a Structural Engineer for its real estate arm of the business as it commences plans to expand its presence in Lagos with real estate development particularly along the Lekki-Epe Coastal axis and beyond.
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of our building structure and infrastructure project. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, proficiency in structural analysis, and the ability to ensure the safety, durability, and sustainability of our building project.

Responsibilities

Structural Design and Analysis: Develop an up-to-date detailed structural design for the building project; Perform structural analysis to ensure the stability and strength of the structure under various loads and conditions.

Project Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with the architects, construction managers, and other engineers to integrate structural design with the overall project plan; Prepare and review structural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Compliance and Standards: Ensure that the structural design complies with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards; Conduct site visitation and inspection to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.

Technical Support and Problem-Solving: Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the building process; Address and resolve any design or construction issues that arise, ensuring optimal solutions are implemented.

Quality Assurance and Safety: Implement quality control measures to ensure the structural integrity and safety of the building project; Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to mitigate potential hazards.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including design calculations, reports, and inspection records; Prepare and present progress reports and technical presentations to clients and stakeholders.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.

At least 6 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Revit) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
